Bluejays bowling places sixth at Great Plains Open

 

Lincoln, Neb. – The Tabor College men's bowling team placed sixth out of ten teams on Saturday and Sunday Dec. 7-8, at the Great Plains Open, held at the Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Neb.

 

The Bluejays who earned the sixth place finish after totaling 6,587 points, where just 57 points away from finishing in the top five at the meet.

 

Senior Kyle Smith led the Bluejays finishing with a team-high 1,403 points including a game-high of 234 points. Junior Austin Jones finished right behind Smith with 1,398 points. Jones also bowled Tabor's highest game of the meet at 255.

 

Finishing third for the Bluejays was freshman Nic Rawson with 1,309 points. Rawson's bowled his best game of the meet in the second game finishing with a score of 211.

 

Tabor is currently ranked No. 69th nationally for all collegiate bowling teams in the current USCB College Bowling national rankings. The Bluejays mush finish the regular season ranked in the top 80 to be invited to the USBC national tournament for the NAIA division.
